You're sitting at your desk working quietly. And so is your co-worker. An hour later your friend comes over to pay a visit. She's standing there talking to you and tells you about something personal that you and her discussed some time ago. So now, let's say you're french and so is she, and she starts to talk to you in french. So you and her are talking and this conversation is between you and her. But your co-worker buddy starts looking over and fussing in her seat. You see her looking over at you, but you ignore her because your friend is talking to you and it's serious.
Your co-worker then gets up and walks away. And while she walks away, she turns around to look at you, hoping to get your attention. Once again you ignore her while you're talking to your friend.
Later she comes back and your friend is gone. Then she starts to tell you how she gets annoyed when people talk in other languages. She says..."English please! That's just rude."
Do you say:
A.) "You're right. We should have spoken in english. How rude were we?"
Or do you say:
B.) "I'm sorry, but the conversation was between her and I. Why should we talk in english? It's none of your business."

Neither answer. The real answer is
C.) But if we spoke in English, you'd be able to understand the terrible things we were saying about you, you sorry bastard.
I definitely vote for C. ;)
That's so mean. I like it. :D
I am going back to studying french so that I can purposely speak it to annoy someone that doesn't understand me. For example:
"Vous et un petit chien dans le foret de mi vie."
That's my favorite and only line. :)
Je selectionne l'option B. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi je devrais parler anglais si je ne parle pas a l'autre personne. You know what I mean?
Oh wait, THAT was rude of me. ha ha ;)
