Didn't hit the gym much this week. This was a bad week for me. I ate too much and did not go to the gym but once so far. That was last night. I was feeling horrible. I guess bloated. It may be that time soon. So I went to the gym and did the treadmill for 50 minutes and then on the electronic bike, which I like much better than this other bike. It's crap and your back doesn't feel right when you're on it. So I did that and then went home.
On my way to the train, I walked through crowds of people. It was cold. But not too bad. I took the stairs down and when I got to the bottom, this old man lost his balance on the escalator and started falling. This guy ran down the stairs and tried to help him up. I stood there ready to help, but I thought maybe the guy had him. But then he called out for help and I ran up the stairs and grabbed the old man on the other side under his arm and held him til we got to the top.
In his superman position, he looked as if he were going to take off as his feet were on steps ahead of us. I felt so bad because he panic and didn't know what to do. The look on his face told it all.
So I told him to relax and that we had him. After I said this, he was able to relax and stop moving. As soon as the top came, I told him to get ready to move his feet. As he did, he was able to stand as we helped him up.
He was very grateful. When he stood up, he was a big tall man. A retired looking business man with grey hair. I was happy to have helped him. We smiled at each other and the guy who ran to help him looked at me and said thank you. I nodded to him as if it were no problem cause it my job to help.
So I went back down the stairs and got on the train. The conductor announced that the train was skipping stops and so I was pleased. I felt that was my reward for helping the man out --to pass all the stops so I can get home quick.
Overall, I think it was a job well done, especially when strangers go out of their way to help another.
