A month ago I fell off my bike. I was going down a hill in high speeds. Lost control, but managed to slow down before I flipped off and hit the ground. It wasn't a bad fall, but enough to cut my knee, watch my hand turn purple and later feel the pain.
I got up and rode the rest of the way. I continued to ride, but found a few places hard to ride. The hills made me dizzy and I kept falling over. But I kept riding it. At one point I stopped and said that I was no longer going to call myself a mountain biker. I had met my match. I had no choice but to continue to ride. I had to get to the bottom. Even standing with my bike, I found myself slipping. Crazy. I was the only woman there, til Sue came. Sue is a ski instructor and a guide for bikers. Before we could ride, we had to go down with a guide. I understood why after a few falls. So she was great. She must have been in her 40's, or late 30's. Don't know, but she was awesome. I want to ride like her later in the years. She helped me through the paths. Told me about certain spots and what to look out for. She was nice and very patient.
So after a month, I'm still hurting. I'm going to see my doctor and probably go back to therapy for a few weeks. Last year he helped me and my knee was better for a good year. Didn't have any knee pains for a while. I just need to stretch more. It's important to stretch.
