Shoes

I stood by the elevator and watched this girl walk in her high heels. She had on a black jacket and black pants and her shoes were nice. But she could not walk in them. She was in pain. So she walked on the balls of her foot.

Women love shoes. A woman can have 100 pairs in her closet and still feel she needs more. "I need those brown shoes." We say. "I need those boots." And we get them. Sometimes we feel guilty for buying them, but no matter what we feel, we won't ever return them. So our shoes add up and we never feel that's a problem.

Over the years, the styles have changed our footwear. It has changed them to a point where our feet hurt!! I mean, shoes were always in. In the 70's there were platform shoes. My mother use to wear them alot. But she also fell down in them as well. Though she looked hot, they were a little dangerous. My dad would walk with her and then 2 seconds later, he found he was walking alone. He'd looked back and there she was, on the floor. She never hurt herself, but I bet alot of woman did. Nowadays, the shoes lack comfort. Woman want stylish shoes. Shoes that make them feel sexy. But look sexy FIRST. That's important. So she says to you, "They're comfortable..." That's when you know they don't look so hot. It's like when people say, "He got a great personality!" That means he's not attractive. That how shoes are.

Then they put them on and walk. Umm....that's if they can walk in them, in which most of the time they can't. Now when I buy my shoes, I give it the "how many blocks can I walk in them" test. I have to know that I can walk at least 10 blocks in them without breaking a toe. So lately, I've been going for the comfort. Does that mean I'm getting old? Oh no no nooo. I have tons of shoes. All kinds. Some sexy, some not. I have pointy shoes and open toe shoes. But are they all good to walk in?

It's funny. There are times when I'm watching girls walk by and I stare at their walk. Alot of young girls walk around in high heels and they can't walk right in them. You see that their walk is not smooth and easy. They're basically stomping as they walk. Shoes made today, unless they are ugly, are not made with any type of comfort. Why is this? You see beautiful shoes everywhere. But when you put them on, there is no cushion. The balls of your feet start to hurt. And you're hitting the pavement hard. But not to worry cause you're looking hot in those shoes. Even if your heel is getting run down, you're still looking hot! If you're lucky, you might have a man at home to rub your feet. But that's rare.

So I carry flip flops with me. In case my shoes get to me, I switch to my flips. I need to walk in comfort. I can't walk around the city in heels and no cushion in my shoes. But alot of woman do it. Why? Why hurt your feet? Alot of woman don't know how to walk in their heels. I think we need to tell ourselves...anything over 3 inches, lets stay away from. Poor girls look funny trying to walk in their heels. And what's up with those shoes that look huge? So huge, they make the poor girl look like those Bratz dolls. Ever see those dolls? They have big feet with skinny bodies and big heads.

Before I end this, may I please say to the men out there with girlfriends:

When your woman has on heels, please remember to walk with her at her pace and not ahead. She could easily break a heal or her ankle while trying to keep up with you if she's wearing sexy high heels. Show her you care.

Oh, and having a car would help her too. Then she could just sit and cross her legs while showing off her shoes.
