So I'm packing up my things and leaving my job. Tomorrow night is my farewell party. Invited a few co-workers that I've enjoyed working with over the years. Hopefully everyone will make it.
Today I went down to pick up a few boxes from the mail room. While waiting there, my co-worker mail man saw me and ask me when my last day was. And that he had something for me and since I was there, he would give it to me then. He said he wanted to give me these books. He's a religious man. And every now and then, he would have something for me to read, a prayer book of the sorts.
So today he hands me these two books. "The Cross Switch Blade" story is suppose to be a great story. Sold all over the world and translated in over 20 different languages. The story is about a man who cared enough to reach out to trouble teens, especially a group of young teenage boys who were on trial for murder. Seems pretty interesting. I started to read it on the train. I thought that was very thoughtful of him. Of course I appreciated it very much. He said it was for the generous gift that I had given him one Christmas. I thought that was sweet. The other book is about hope and how to deal with life's troubles. How to cope when your heart is breaking, how to pray through your pain, how to avoid the dark pit of resentment and bitterness and how to be a comforter to others who hurt. Seems interesting, at least to me. I will enjoy reading them and when I'm done, I'll email him to tell him how it was.
