I had some problems with both my feet for over a month. The balls of my feet were hurting bad. One night, while I was walking home, I had this intense pain in one of my feet and I couldn't walk. I had a good 7 blocks to walk and I was only at the beginning. There were no taxi cabs around and not many people walking by. Although, I wasn't going to ask a stranger to carry me home, even if there were lots of people walking around. I just sucked it up and walked home.
So long story short, I'm seeing this doctor. He takes x-rays of both my feet and it comes back fine. So nothing is wrong. But I was still hurting, so what was up? Well the doctor told me to do some stretching. Blah blah blah, then come back in three weeks. He was a nice doctor. Very cute. Always smiling. Are they just smiling to make the patient feel good so they can come back? Or is he just smiling at me?? Is it my jokes? Is it that I impressed him by knowing the parts of my feet??
No, he's just nice.
So, I go back and today was 3 weeks later. He said three weeks ago if the pain continued, I would get the "injection." Oh yeah, the "injection," baby. I was scared. I knew I was going to get injected and I knew it was gonna hurt. I tried avoiding it by suggesting I get some therapy, but he said it wouldn't help that area. The knee was one thing, but the feet...
So I asked him if this was going straight into the bone. He said yes. I said, "Mama!" He laughed and said it would be okay. So I ask if I should hold my foot really still and he said yes. And so he pulled out an extension to the table I was sitting on, so that my leg can rest right on it. He said it would help keep my leg from kicking him. "Ha, ha, ha...I'm not gonna kick you, Doctor." Batting my eyes at him.
He sprays something cold on my feet and then, then.......it happens. "Oh, oh....OHHHHH! It hurrrrrrtssss......." "Almost done." He says. And then...the needle was STILL inside my bone, damn it! Then it came out. (Phew)
He puts a ban aid on it and calls it a night. I have to come back in a few weeks and do the other foot, if it continues to hurt, that is. In the meantime, I get new orthodics!!! YEAH!! Having your own pair is great. Makes your feet feel so much better. So maybe now I can get back to wearing my heels. But take is slow, LJ, take it slow.

No, not at all. I wear heals, but not that often. I certainly don't walk through the streets of NY in heels, that's for sure. So I was surprised at this. :(
it's not plantar fascitis? it sounds terribly painful, I feel for you
Hmm...don't think it is.
I forgot what it's called.
