Vacation is over. Vacation is over. Vacation is over. This keeps repeating in my head. I'm sad. I'm back in New York and my vacation is over. But I must say I had the best time. I got to spend the holidays in California. It's where I want to be right now. But no. I have a job here. Doesn't that suck?

So now there's this gas smell here and people are bugging out. Some were going home because they thought it might be some sort of terror act. Ever since 9/11, most Americans find themselves thinking there could be another attack. So when something weird happens, like the blackout in 2003 or the Yankees player that crashed his plane into a Manhattan building, people start putting on their sneakers so they can get ready to run home. The thing is, we can't always get crazy and start thinking the worse, but we do have to now because of 9/11. Though I'm nice and relaxed and watching the news to see what's going on, I'm on standby just like everyone else. But I'm still going on with my day like it's just another day. Just another day here in NEEEEW YOORRRRRK! I don't like it.
So, I made some decisions and I have decided. What have I decided on? Yes, that's right. I have decided on that. Another thing I have decided on doing this year, is NOT making any New Year's resolutions. They never work out. I never follow them. So I won't bother with a workout resolution. I'm just doing it. See? It's working already. I wanted to say that I would never be nice to people again, but I'm naturally a nice person, so it's gonna be hard to be a bitch. Of course, for those of you that were lucky enough to be in my pressense when I was being one, know dam well I can be one and I'm not so nice. So I'm like.....bypolar? Nah.....
So, Mas and I had a nice time in California. He loves it there and refuses to come back to New York. I'll miss you, buddy!! *sigh*
We did alot of things. One was shopping. A girl loves to shop, no matter what part of the world she's in. Mas took me to every Walmart there was just to find the one Bratz doll I was looking for. In the mean time I found and bought 10 dolls, but never that "one" doll I was searching hopelessly for. (*sigh*)
On another shopping adventure, I came home with a big suitcase. And one that SPINS!!! So you know I was looking cool when I lifted my suitcase off the belt and walked away gently pushing my suitcase on its side. Nice. I have been travelling all these years with a small carry-on suitcase. How on earth did I get my clothes and shoes in that suitcase on my Malaysia trip? Or my Norway trip? Or all my Belgium trips. On ALL my trips? How? But somehow I manage to fit everything inside, nice and neat. What I'm hoping to do for my next trip, is pretend I still have a small suitcase and pack lightly. That way on the return, I can pack all my new stuff and STILL have room. Whose better than me?? ;)
So on one of the many other things we did on my vacation, was going over to see the Joshua Tree National Park. This place is HUGE. It's about 30 to 50 miles long, I believe
. It's a dessert and it's beautiful. This place has the biggest rocks. The smallest rocks. Some big hairy spiders that you only see at the zoobehind a thick glass. Good thing I didn't run into any. ;) The map and guide told you all about the critters out there. So when I was on some rock somewhere, I aovided the shady places where the snakes like to hang out. I think we saw spider poop. Is there such a thing as spider poop?

It pays to watch Discovery, yo. :)

I also watched a bunch of rock climbers climb up. They go up there in groups. Some were just hanging there for a bit. I guess they got tired. I don't really see the point in climbing rocks like that. But I guess people get this great feeling once they make it to the top. Not many people are up there, so I guess it makes them feel pretty special. I don't know. You tell me.
They had all this equipment with them, but I was chlling on a rock in which I didn't need all those ropes. I'm just dope. I used my strong hands and legs and great sense of balance to get to the top. And when I got there, I was cocky as all hell. Sweet, huh? ;)

Those were the days.
Overall, my time there was great. Except for me being sick. I manage to get a cold and my nights were bad, as I couldn't breath well and the smell of vicks up my nose didn't help enough. But during the day, I was well enough to venture out and see alot of California.
With these recent trips to Califorina, I find myself wanting so much to be there. It's been a long time dream of mine to live there. I use to watch alot of "Chips." I get excited when I see chips on the freeways out there. :)
Now back to New York. I love New York, no doubt, but there aren't enough trees in Queens for me. Not too happy about that. My vacation is over. :(

Welcome back!!!! It looks beautiful there.
Yeah it really is. I'm packing my bags!! :)
welcome back LJ! I bet you can climb up those rocks at Joshua, I used to go there and do some scrambling back when I was living in SB - I had some friends who were climbing freaks like you describe. I still don't get what they are doing but they enjoy it and to each their own I guess. It's good to have you back.
Hey Tomdog, thanks. It's always nice to be home. But I really like it out there. I could have stayed there another week. :)
