My Good Deed For The Night

If I were in this position, would I want someone to help me?

I turn around and see this man walking and he's drunk. He's really out of it and he's walking side to side. And at times he looked like he was gonna fall. So he passes me, as I stop cause booboo wants to take a sniff. We both cross the street and he's up ahead of me. Suddenly he leans up against a fence. I'm thinking, this guy, where ever he's going, he's not gonna make it. And here I am, the only person near him. So if he drops, do I just walk past him and leave him?

He starts to walk again and then drops something. He's aware of this and he tries to bend over and pick it up, but he fails. He falls to his knees and sits there with this arms working hard to hold him up. So now I'm standing there with my dog and I'm like..."great." So I walk past him and stop. I waited to see if he would get up, but he wouldn't. His arms shaking as he tried holding himself up. I pull out my cell phone and dial 911. The line picks up and I explain to the chick on the other end, who then patches me through to the paramedics. I tell them that this man is drunk and has fallen over and can not get up. If they could send over an ambulance to check on him. I thought maybe they could help him and get him home.

Soon after that, the ambulance drives over, but stops at the corner. I gave them specifics on the location, so I waited. But then the drunk guy starts to get up. I tell him not to get up and that there's help for him. I also ask if he knew where he was. Of course, I didn't understand him. He then got up and started walking in the other direction and disappeared. The medics call me and I explain to them that the guy is up and heading down the block. They said they couldn't do anything for him if he was walking around. So they drove down the block and I just went upstairs and life went on. You know, me and Booboo. So even if the guy left and the paramedics came out for nothing, I just couldn't leave this guy siting there and not help him.

So then I thought, maybe he ran cause he's illegal? Cause he WAS mexican. Well whatever.
