To Sing or Not to Sing

There was this show on the WB a while back, a knock-off of American Idol. So there were singers who performed and were judged, and so on and so on.

I have a question. But I'll ask you this in a moment. So, this show was opposite of American Idol. The singers could not sing one note. But the judges would say they were great. And they would go back out and jump for joy and hug their family and friends that waited near by. And so when all the finalist were picked and the competition started, they would go out and perform each time and the judges lied to them every time. There was this unattractive guy. Skinny, big eyes, hair looked greasy and his clothes were dorking looking. He sang terrible. He sang Madonna's song, "Like a Virgin." I felt like when you scratch your nails against a black board. The feeling was horrible. The judges took a moment and then one by one they said to him...

-"You were sooo good. I have goose bumps. I like you alot."

-"I can't find the words. I'm feeling you, dawg."

-"You performed brillantly. I see a star in you."

I'm thinking...."WHAT?!!" He was horrible!! It was like seeing the bad singers in American Idol and they took those singers and now they are being told they are hot. So my question is...are they truely loved by their family and friends? Would my family tell me I could sing and I should go out and be a star if I sounded like that? No. So why are their families encouraging these 20 somethings to go out and sing when they truely suck ass?!

It seems like we're running out of good shows, because these shows are horrible.

Anyway, be honest with your kids. Thanks.
